Terms of Service

Welcome to Velvet Leash Co. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Velvet Leash
Co. website and your interactions with Velvet Leash Co. regarding membership, booking, and pet care
services.

By using this website, submitting an inquiry, purchasing or maintaining a membership, requesting
services, or otherwise engaging with Velvet Leash Co., you acknowledge that you have read and agree
to these Terms, as applicable. These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy and, for clients receiving pet care
services, any Client Service Agreement, intake documentation, care plan, invoice, or other agreement provided in connection with a specific booking.

  1. About Velvet Leash Co.
    Velvet Leash Co. provides premium, concierge-style in-home pet care and related services. Services
    may be performed by Velvet Leash Co. personnel or carefully selected pet care professionals engaged
    by Velvet Leash Co., subject to availability and the needs of each household.

Velvet Leash Co. is not an open marketplace or on-demand sitter platform. Acceptance as a client,
membership, and submission of a service request do not guarantee that a particular date, service,
or Pet Care Specialist will be available.

  1. Eligibility and Accurate Information
    You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to
    purchase services from Velvet Leash Co.

Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and current information concerning their
pets, household, access instructions, emergency contacts, veterinary information, medications,
behavioral history, health concerns, and other circumstances reasonably relevant to safe pet and
home care. You agree to notify Velvet Leash Co. promptly of material changes to this information.

  1. Membership
    Velvet Leash Co. operates as a private, membership-based concierge pet care service. An active
    membership may be required to access booking privileges, priority scheduling, concierge support,
    and other membership benefits.

Membership pricing and benefits are disclosed when membership is offered or purchased and may be
updated from time to time.

Automatic Monthly Billing
Where a membership is offered on a recurring monthly basis, the membership will automatically renew
and the payment method provided will be charged at the applicable monthly membership rate until the
membership is canceled.

You may cancel your membership at any time before the next recurring charge by contacting Velvet
Leash Co. using the contact method provided with your membership or other cancellation method made
available by Velvet Leash Co.

Cancellation of membership does not automatically cancel an existing confirmed pet care booking or
eliminate amounts already owed for services.

Clients who cancel membership and later seek to rejoin may be subject to the then-current
reinstatement fee and membership requirements disclosed at the time of reactivation.

Membership itself does not guarantee availability for any particular dates or services.

  1. Services and Availability
    Velvet Leash Co. offers in-home pet care services that may include overnight structured care,
    extended-stay care, 24-hour concierge care, and individually arranged specialty services.

Certain services, including 24-hour care, farm care, exotic animal care, medication management,
behavioral or medical special-needs care, and unusually complex households, may be subject to
additional evaluation, availability requirements, customized pricing, or additional terms.

Service descriptions appearing on the website are general descriptions and do not guarantee that a
particular service is appropriate or available for every pet or household.

  1. Pricing
    Current pricing will be disclosed on the Velvet Leash Co. website, onboarding materials, proposals,
    invoices, or other communications provided before a booking is confirmed.

Unless otherwise expressly stated, pet care services are billed by calendar day rather than by
night.

Velvet Leash Co. reserves the right to change prices, membership fees, service offerings, or
policies prospectively. Changes will not alter the price of a booking that has already been
confirmed and paid unless the client requests additional or materially different services or both
parties otherwise agree.

Customized pricing may apply to households or services requiring substantially greater time,
staffing, travel, complexity, or specialized care.

  1. Booking and Payment
    Submitting an inquiry, discussing dates, receiving an estimate, or requesting a reservation does
    not by itself create a confirmed booking.

Unless Velvet Leash Co. expressly agrees otherwise in writing, a booking is secured only after all
required onboarding requirements have been completed and payment has been received as specified on
the applicable invoice or booking communication.

Velvet Leash Co. generally requires payment in full within 48 hours of receipt of an invoice to
secure requested dates. If payment is not received within the required period, requested dates may
be released and offered to another client.

Availability remains subject to confirmation until the booking requirements have been completed.

  1. Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds
    Clients should communicate booking changes or cancellations as early as possible.

Because Velvet Leash Co. reserves Pet Care Specialist time and may decline other bookings after
accepting a reservation, cancellations made fewer than 48 hours before scheduled services may be
non-refundable.

Any applicable refund, credit, or modification will be determined according to the cancellation
policy applicable to the booking and the circumstances involved.

Changes that materially increase the amount, duration, complexity, staffing requirements, or scope
of care may result in additional charges.

  1. Travel Delays and Extensions
    Velvet Leash Co. understands that travel disruptions can occur.

Where included with the client’s service, Velvet Leash Co. may provide Travel Delay Protection for
up to 24 hours as described in the applicable service materials or booking agreement.

Clients should notify Velvet Leash Co. immediately if travel plans change or an extension of care
may be necessary.

Extensions beyond any included Travel Delay Protection are subject to Pet Care Specialist
availability and may result in additional charges.

  1. Pet Health, Behavior, and Safety
    Clients must disclose known medical conditions, medications, allergies, behavioral concerns, bite
    history, escape tendencies, aggression, anxiety, mobility limitations, or other information that
    could reasonably affect the safety of the pet, Pet Care Specialist, other persons, or property.

Velvet Leash Co. reserves the right to decline, modify, suspend, or discontinue services when
reasonably necessary for safety or when material information affecting care was not disclosed.

Velvet Leash Co. does not provide veterinary medical services, diagnosis, or treatment.

  1. Emergency Veterinary Care
    If a pet appears to require urgent medical attention during a booking, Velvet Leash Co. will make
    reasonable efforts to contact the client and/or designated emergency contact and follow the
    emergency instructions maintained in the client’s household or pet care records.

When reasonably necessary to protect the animal’s health or safety and the client cannot be reached
promptly, the client authorizes Velvet Leash Co. to seek appropriate veterinary care consistent
with the client’s applicable authorization and care documents.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law, veterinary expenses and other third-party
emergency expenses incurred on behalf of the client’s pet remain the client’s responsibility.

  1. Home Access and Security
    Clients are responsible for providing safe, reliable, and lawful access to the residence and all
    areas reasonably necessary to perform agreed services.

Clients must disclose relevant alarms, locks, gates, access codes, cameras, monitoring systems,
hazards, or other conditions that may materially affect the performance of services.

Velvet Leash Co. will take reasonable measures to safeguard access information and respect the
privacy and security of the client’s home.

  1. Cameras and Recording Devices
    Clients must disclose indoor cameras, audio-recording devices, or other monitoring equipment
    located in areas where Pet Care Specialists will be performing services.

Recording devices may not be placed in bathrooms, sleeping areas provided to an overnight Pet Care
Specialist, or other locations where a person would reasonably expect privacy.

Velvet Leash Co. may decline or discontinue services if undisclosed surveillance materially affects
privacy, safety, or the ability to provide services.

  1. Pet Care Specialists
    Velvet Leash Co. selects and coordinates Pet Care Specialists based on factors including
    experience, availability, household needs, communication, and compatibility.

While Velvet Leash Co. prioritizes consistency and familiar caregivers, a particular Pet Care
Specialist is not guaranteed unless expressly agreed.

Velvet Leash Co. may substitute or reassign care personnel when reasonably necessary to maintain
safe and reliable coverage.

  1. Client Responsibilities
    Clients are responsible for providing sufficient food, medications, supplies, equipment,
    identification, leashes, harnesses, litter, cleaning supplies, and other items reasonably necessary
    for the agreed care.

Clients are also responsible for maintaining a reasonably safe environment for pets and care
personnel and for informing Velvet Leash Co. of household hazards or third parties who may enter
the property during the booking.

  1. Third Parties
    Velvet Leash Co. may use third-party providers for services such as payment processing, scheduling,
    communications, background screening, website functionality, or other business operations.

Velvet Leash Co. is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, availability, security
practices, or terms of third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute
endorsement.

  1. Website Content and Intellectual Property
    Unless otherwise indicated, the Velvet Leash Co. name, branding, logo, written materials, service
    descriptions, graphics, photographs, website content, and other original materials are owned by or
    licensed to Velvet Leash Co. and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use the website for personal, noncommercial purposes related to evaluating or obtaining
Velvet Leash Co. services.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, sell, distribute, modify, exploit, or use Velvet Leash Co.
materials for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

  1. Website Availability and Accuracy
    Velvet Leash Co. makes reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current but does
    not guarantee that every page will always be complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free.

If website information conflicts with a specific written proposal, invoice, Client Service
Agreement, or other agreement governing a confirmed booking, the terms applicable to that specific
booking will control to the extent of the conflict.

  1. Disclaimer
    Pet care inherently involves circumstances that cannot always be predicted or controlled, including
    animal behavior, illness, injury, weather, property conditions, third-party actions, and
    emergencies.

Velvet Leash Co. will provide agreed services with reasonable care and in accordance with
applicable agreements and company standards. However, except as otherwise expressly provided in
writing or required by law, Velvet Leash Co. does not guarantee any particular outcome resulting
from circumstances outside its reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be
waived or limited.

  1. Limitation of Liability
    To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Velvet Leash Co. will not be liable for
    indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of
    the website or services where such damages result from circumstances outside Velvet Leash Co.’s
    reasonable control.

Any limitation of liability contained in these Terms is subject to applicable law and does not
exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Additional liability provisions applicable to pet care services may be contained in the Client
Service Agreement governing a particular booking.

  1. Indemnification
    To the extent permitted by applicable law, clients agree to be responsible for claims, losses,
    liabilities, or reasonable expenses arising from materially inaccurate or omitted information
    supplied by the client, undisclosed known behavioral risks, unsafe conditions under the client’s
    control, unauthorized third-party actions arranged by the client, or the client’s material breach
    of an applicable agreement.

This provision does not require a client to indemnify Velvet Leash Co. for liability that
applicable law prohibits from being shifted to the client.

  1. Separate Client Agreements
    These website Terms provide general conditions applicable to the Velvet Leash Co. website,
    membership, and service relationship.

Actual pet care bookings may also be governed by a Client Service Agreement, pet profile, emergency
authorization, veterinary information, invoice, care plan, or other booking-specific documentation.

Where a booking-specific written agreement directly conflicts with these general Terms, the
booking-specific agreement will control with respect to that booking.

  1. Electronic Communications
    By communicating with Velvet Leash Co. electronically, you consent to receiving ordinary business
    communications electronically, including booking communications, invoices, service information, and
    notices, subject to applicable law.

Electronic records and signatures may be used where permitted by law.

  1. Governing Law
    These Terms and the relationship between Velvet Leash Co. and its clients are governed by the laws
    of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where
    applicable law requires otherwise.

Any dispute regarding venue or jurisdiction will be handled in accordance with applicable law and
any controlling written agreement between the parties.

  1. Changes to These Terms
    Velvet Leash Co. may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in services, business
    practices, technology, or legal requirements.

The updated Terms will be posted on this website with a revised effective date. Changes apply
prospectively unless otherwise permitted by law.

Terms applicable to an already-confirmed booking will remain subject to the agreement governing
that booking unless the parties agree otherwise or a change is required by law.

  1. Severability
    If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining
    provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  1. No Waiver
    A failure by Velvet Leash Co. to enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion does not
    constitute a waiver of that provision or the right to enforce it later.
